In 2009, Jan Koum and Brian Acton founded WhatsApp. The community of the easy-to-use messenger grew quickly, so that Meta Platforms (formerly Facebook) also became aware of the service. Meta bought the company and still makes sure that regularly WhatsApp updates arrive on your smartphone. They should not only ensure the security of the messenger, but also provide it with constant new functions.
WhatsApp update brings back in-chat support
One feature that was once popular in the WhatsApp beta was in-chat support. It enabled users to contact the app’s development team directly via chat. The team originally tested this feature in March 2021, but it appeared to have been scrapped. But the new WhatsApp update brings them back. According to WABetaInfo, this should first be done again in the beta test. However, the function can also be found in the current free version of the app.
It is still not known why WhatsApp removed the function in the spring of last year. After all, participants in the beta test of the app were already extremely positive about the in-chat support. It is conceivable that the team behind the application simply did not have the capacity at this point.
How do I use the function?
If you have already used Messenger support, you at least know the right way. If not, do the following after the WhatsApp update:
- Open WhatsApp on your Android phone or iPhone.
- Go to “Settings” and tap on “Help”.
- Now select “Contact us” and describe your request there.
“We’ll get back to you in a WhatsApp chat,” confirms the support team at the bottom. In this way, you can get help quickly and easily if you have any problems.
