The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is getting ready to launch soon and its key specs have surfaced online. The Chinese tech giant’s next flagship smartphone has already been tipped to get a quad rear camera setup and now an insider suggests it might get a powerful periscope telephoto sensor. It is said to have a similar camera setup to its predecessor – Xiaomi 11 Ultra. The next Xiaomi 12 Ultra is said to be released in February after the Chinese spring festival.
According informant Digital chat station, Xiaomi 12 Ultra will receive a 5x periscope telephoto lens. If this is true, Xiaomi’s flagship smartphone will be one of the first Chinese smartphones with a high optical zoom lens. the earliest informant mentioned that there are virtually no smartphones on the market that have a 5x optical zoom lens. The recently released OnePlus 10 Pro has a 3.3x optical zoom.
The Xiaomi 12 series, including the Ultra model, will feature Xiaomi’s in-house Surge chips. In addition, the smartphone is also he said to get cameras powered by Leica. the Gizmochina report also shared an image of the upcoming smartphone that shows the front and back design along with the case design.
According to the image shared in the report, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will have a curved screen with a central cutout for the selfie camera. The back panel is not visible in the image as the phone has a protective cover. However, the design of the protective case matches the design shown in a previous report.
The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is said to have a 6.6-inch 2K AMOLED display. The next flagship smartphone is said to be missing a secondary display, which was one of the main selling points of its predecessor – Xiaomi 11 Ultra. The next smartphone is said to be released in February and will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.
