Google Maps is now much more than “just” a route planner. You can discover the whole world using the platform. Did you know that you can even explore the universe? It is even possible to take a look inside the International Space Station (ISS).
From Google Maps to the ISS
In your browser on the computer you can get to the ISS from Google Maps. To do this, follow these steps:
- Go to Google Maps.
- Click on the map at the bottom right and select “More”.
- Select “Satellite” under Map Type and make sure that “Globe View” is ticked.
- Use your mouse, touchpad, or the minus sign to zoom out far in the image until a menu appears on the left.
- Here you can not only find various planets, but also the International Space Station. click on it
You are now inside the ISS. Move around using the arrow keys or the mouse. Sometimes dots will appear for you to click, such as “Cupola”. If you select the item, an explanation will appear in English.
Note: You cannot do the trip from your phone or in the Google Maps app.
